Eat Six Meals A Day
That’s right. To lose weight, a person needs to eat more and more often to stimulate their metabolism to lose fat. Eating five to six meals a day accelerates the metabolism and maintains steady energy levels thoughout the day. Simply put, metabolism is “the speed at which the body burns through food”. This means that the act of digesting food more often burns more calories.
Eat Protein At Every Meal
Protein repairs muscle, increases your metabolism, builds metabolism and repairs every cell in your body.
Plan Meals Ahead Of Time
Try preparing your meals ahead of time. Cook a bunch of brown rice, 6 chicken breasts, steam several cups of vegetables, and bake 5 sweet potatoes. Then you can freeze them and eat them during the week. When you have meals already prepared, you will be more likely stick to your food plan and less likely to eat foods that have no nutritional value. Remember, protein shakes and protein bars may be used to replace one to three of your meals each day.
Get containers to store your food purchases, such as plastic storage containers, sports bottles, and a cooler to store and carry your food. Having your meals or supplements within reach during a hectic day can keep you on track of your healthy training program.
Use High Quality Supplements
Protein shakes and bars are a great way to help you eat six meals a day. But make sure they are of high quality. Many supplements are filled with cheap fillers like sugar. Some protein bars and shakes on the market are high in fat and have more sugar than a candybar.
Strive For Consistency, Not Perfection
You can be sure that there will be an occasional meal or snack that’s not on the recommended food list. When you get off track with your food , don’t allow it to slow you down. Enjoy it and don’t beat yourself up over it. Then get back on track with your next meal.
