Did you skip breakfast this morning? Do you realize that if you skip breakfast, you are promoting the storage of fat cells? If you’re not eating breakfast, your body has most likely gone an average of 14 hours without a meal. Going this long without eating will send the body into a catabolic state. This means that the body will literally start eating away at your hard-earned muscle.
Muscle is the biggest determining factor for permanent fat loss, so you always want to keep as much muscle as you can. When you don’t eat for long periods of time, such as about 10 hours, the body begins to shut down and tries to save the fat. This is when it begins to destroy the body’s muscle and uses it for energy. Remember that the body is like a furnace and muscle is the fuel. The more muscle you lose, the slower your metabolism becomes.
Every breakfast should have complex carbohydrates and protein. Protein prevents muscle breakdown and helps your body recover from those hard workouts. The complex carbohydrates supply your body with energy all day.
These are some fast and easy breakfasts On the weekend try cooking up a bunch of rice, preferably brown. The less processed a food is the better. Depending on your body weight, you will throw a 1/2; a cup to a full cup of rice into a pan, then pour 4-10 egg whites on the rice. Sprinkle with garlic salt. Cook on medium heat and in less than 5 minutes you have a great breakfast. This breakfast has 0 fat, 0 sugar, and plenty of complex carbohydrates and protein.
Here is David’s oatmeal/ protein breakfast. This means plain oats (not the flavored sugared oats). I prefer Quick Oats; it takes less than a minute to cook. Then add one to two scoops of vanilla protein. This breakfast has 0 grams of sugar and 3 grams of fat.
When you’re really in a rush, try a Parrillo Hi protein/Procarb shake. Your body weight will determine how many scoops each shake should contain. Mix with water and ice. And you have breakfast in a glass. These shakes contain 0 fat and 0 grams of sugar.
If that’s too much work, there’s always a Parriollo Protein Bar. They contain 20 grams of protein and 30 grams of Complex Carbs. The fat in the bar comes from MTC oil, which is almost impossible to store as fat.
